Manchester United are now unbeaten in seven Premier League games after drawing with Crystal Palace last night. The problem is, only two of them have been victories.
One of those was a 9-0 win against Southampton, though, which was one of many memorable wins for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season.
A win against league leaders Manchester City in the derby this weekend would no doubt be even more memorable given their neighbour’s dominance this season.
This is a mouth-watering clash in the English top-flight, something fans of the Premier League across the world will not want to miss out on, with many rearranging their fantasy football teams accordingly and looking to get the Bet365 bonus codes online ahead of this game.
But there have already been a number of memorable games for the red half of Manchester this season. Here’s a look at a few of them.
Man United 6, Leeds United 2
Man United were at their destructive best when they hosted Marcelo Bielsa’s side at Old Trafford in December. The Red Devils showed no mercy to the visitors and started scoring goals from the off.
Scott McTominay fired twice within the first three minutes of the game before Bruno Fernandes and Victor Lindelof extended the score-line. And though Liam Cooper’s header reduced the deficit before the interval, the Whites didn’t find things easy for themselves in the second half.
Fernandes added his second goal from the penalty spot after Daniel James found himself on the scoresheet. Stuart Dallas curled home a second consolation in the 73rd minute but United went on to win by an emphatic 6-2 scoreline.
Man United 3, Liverpool 2
Liverpool versus Man United is one of the fiercest rivals in world football. Solskjaer’s side met the Reds in the FA Cup in January after they played out a 0-0 draw in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah was in top form at that time and scored the opener from the brilliant through-ball from Roberto Firmino.
But Marcus Rashford’s outstanding pass and Mason Greenwood’s equally brilliant finish levelled the scores for United. And after the interval, the 23-year-old forward scored a goal himself, but Salah popped up with the equalizer soon for the Reds.
Just when the prospect of another draw was looking likely, Fernandes struck a superb free-kick goal to claim a memorable victory for the Red Devils.
Man United 9, Southampton 0
United can look absolutely unstoppable at times, and we got a glimpse of that in the recent league match against Southampton. The Red Devils completely destroyed their opponents, scoring plenty of goals and ultimately emerged victorious by an emphatic 9-0 scoreline.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, and Dan James all found themselves on the scoresheet to make it a miserable night for the Saints.
