Rising Premier League Stars

Rising Premier League Stars

The new Premier League season is set to get underway, with twenty elite clubs battling it out across a long campaign. Manchester City’s dominance of the division in recent years has meant that only a small percentage of those sides can dream of title success, but there are plenty of other rewards to aim for.

European places are also up for grabs, while other sides will inevitably be caught up in a desperate relegation battle at the end of the season.

Tangible Targets

Arsenal and Liverpool will feel they are genuine title challengers, while the first aim for those three clubs will be to finish in the top four and claim a Champions League slot. Spurs, Manchester United and Aston Villa will also be targeting a top-four slot.

Europa League football is a consolation prize for those who miss out on the Champions League, and West Ham United, Brighton, Chelsea and Brentford are among the sides hoping to qualify.

At the other end of the table, Premier League betting markets show that the newly promoted sides are the three favourites to be relegated this term. Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton will be hoping they can jump above the likes of Nottingham Forest, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Each Premier League team will rely on experienced players to achieve their aims, but at the same time, they will look to give opportunities to talented youngsters. In EPL squads across the country, there are many rising stars to watch out for in 2024/25.

Mikey Moore: Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs fans are excited at the prospect of Mikey Moore getting more game time across the new Premier League season. The teenager made his first team debut at the end of the previous campaign, and in doing so he became Tottenham’s youngest ever Premier League player.

Moore is a winger with great skill and an eye for goal. In twelve matches for England’s Under 17 side, he’s already scored ten times. He’s fast and direct and a threat whenever he gets the ball at his feet.

There is a possibility that Mikey Moore will go out on loan this season, but the fact that he’s just signed his first professional contract suggests he’ll be in Spurs first team squad for 2024/25.

Ethan Nwaneri: Arsenal

While Mikey Moore broke Spurs’ record, great rivals Arsenal have a player in their ranks who can boast a better milestone. Ethan Nwaneri became the youngest Premier League player of all time when he made his debut at just 15.

Two years on, the player now seems ready for a regular place in the Gunners’ matchday squad. Nwaneri is an attacking midfielder, who has also scored important goals in England’s Under 17 side. Performances for Arsenal in pre-season suggest that the youngster is ready for a breakthrough campaign in 2024/25.

Morgan Rogers: Aston Villa

At the age of 22, attacker Morgan Rogers has already been employed by seven clubs in a short career. He was previously on the books at Manchester City, but moved on after failing to break into the first team.

Rogers is now with Aston Villa, and he looks to have settled down after a stop-start career. He made his debut for the Villains earlier in 2024, and earned some starting slots after promising substitute appearances. Villa are keen to find a back up striker to the productive Ollie Watkins, and Morgan Rogers may just tick all the right boxes.

Omari Hutchinson: Ipswich Town

Having impressed at Championship level for Ipswich Town, Omari Hutchinson now has the chance to prove himself in the Premier League. The skilful winger was previously on the books at Chelsea, but initially went out on loan at Portman Road to gain experience.

Now a permanent member of the Ipswich Town squad, Hutchinson will get the chance to show his previous employers what they are missing. In the second tier, the player returned good statistics relating to goals and assists, and he’s an exciting prospect for the new campaign.

Toby Collyer: Manchester United

Manchester United are always keen to develop youth, and Toby Collyer may be the next to follow Kobbie Mainoo and others into the first team. He’s yet to make a senior appearance, but he has played for the first team in pre-season, and is likely to get opportunities in 2024/25.

Collyer is a central midfielder who appears calm on the ball, and is another youngster with a bright future.

The clubs involved will manage these players as the season progresses. Some will have to be patient and wait to make an impact, but they all have such great promise that they will enjoy a certain level of game time.

All teams are looking for the next breakout stars, but could any of the names here replicate the efforts of Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo to transform from promising youngsters to established players?
